MUHAMMAD (pbuh) – THE MERCIFUL

For the guidance of humans, Allah Almighty sent his messengers from time to time. This started from Adam (a.s) and ended with the advent of Prophet (pbuh). Actually, with the arrival of blessed Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), the mission was accomplished as Allah describes in Quran ‘This day I accomplished the religion for you and perfected my blessings upon you and have chosen the religion of Islam for you’ (5:3). Allah Almighty also says; ‘Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad (pbuh) you have a good example to follow for all those who look forward to Allah and the last day and remember Allah much (33; 21). From the aforementioned verse, we infer that Muhammad is an absolute model for the Muslims to follow. Veritably, Allah wants us to imitate beloved Prophet (SAW), follow his teachings, and take His sayings and acts as principles to live the life. Among many attributes of the prophet (pbuh) that we need to adopt, one of the beautiful attributes is ‘Khulq’ meaning Character, which has

How Should Muslims React To Blasphemous Cartoons

Allah Almighty has bestowed Messenger of Islam (pbuh) with an indescribable grandeur. Many Quranic verses are a testament to the eminence of Muhammad (pbuh). One of these verses is the verse of Surah Inshirah, in which Allah says ‘Wa Rafaana La ka zikrak’, meaning ‘And raised high your fame’ (94:4). Allama Iqbal beautifully interprets this verse and states; Dasht Mein, Daman-e-Kuhsar Mein, Maidan Mein Hai Behr Mein, Mouj Ki Aagosh Mein, Toofan Mein Hai (It is in the forests, the hills, and on the tranquil plains: on the seas, in the arms of waves, in the roar of hurricanes) Cheen Ke Shehr, Maraqash Ke Byaban Mein Hai Aur Poshida Musalman Ke Iman Mein Hai (A music heard in China’s town, Morroco’s desert song: And hid within each believer’s heart, it makes his faith grow strong.) Chashm-e-Aqwam Ye Nazara Abad Tak Dekhe Riffat’e Shan e Raffaana La Ka Zikrak Dekhe’ (Let all the peoples of the world see up to the end of time: How I have made this glorious name beyond a

Your waste: someone’s taste

y Zeeshan Rasool Khan, While we every other day listen to boastful claims that the country India is developing fast. It has become very difficult for most of us to accept the brute reality that here the people die because of hunger. Yes, death due to starvation is the unthinkable, reality of India. According to sources, about 14.9% of the Indian population is undernourished. Half of the world’s hungry live in India. Thousands are those who do not know if the next meal would be availed or not. Reports say, everyday 20 crore people have to hit the sack with an empty tummy. In the year 2018, many cases of hunger-death were reported in India. This bitter truth is being cloaked with bragging. Global Hunger Index 2018, which has placed India at a 103rd place out of 119 qualifying countries, is a testimony to this fact that India is not what media shows i.e., all is not well within the nation with respect to common masses. Howbeit, it is not any matter of berating the nation. There is no

Let's Be Authentic

I may be labeled as orthodox, extremist, parochial, and even archaic, but for the sake of Islamic principles, such critical language is acceptable to me. Although the point that I want to make makes no sense for other religions but in our religion Islam, it has credibility. And, that point of discussion is ‘modesty’. In fact, there is a reason behind writing this column and those are the New Year celebrations, which were witnessed on the evening of 31 Dec. One of my friends contacted me and after sending, some salacious pictures that circulated on social sites asked me to come up with writing on the issue. It was not my friend only who was stunned but I too felt that there is something wrong. What added gravity to this problem is the place? It did not happen in India or any western part of the world but in the country, which is prefixed ‘Islamic’ and whose incumbent Prime Minister substitutes ‘State of Medina’ for its actual name with religious orators terming it as ‘Country based on

An Ode To Imam Ahmad Raza Khan

If my heart would be split into two parts, you will find, ‘there is no God, but Allah engraved on one part and’ Prophet is his messenger’ on the other (malfuzat e Raza). It is not easy for anyone to assert himself in such a way. However, in 14th century Islamic world witnessed a personage namely Ahmad Raza Khan who stated so firmly. Ahmad Raza Khan, admirably known as ‘Ala-Hazrat’ was an extraordinary scholar, philosopher, jurist, theologian, and above all nonpareil lover of Beloved Muhammad (pbuh) in modern times. Born in an enlightened family of Mufti Naqi Ali Khan on 14 June 1856 in Bareilly, India, Ahmad Raza Khan is one among few personages who have achieved eternity through their great religious contribution. In a brief lifespan of 65 years, he procured prominent status among Muslim scholars and left for heavenly abode on 28 October 1921. His tomb, located in Bareilly (a city in Uttar Pradesh) India is the spiritual center and focal point for Sunni Muslims of South Asia. Ow
